Agra is located at (39.760686, -99.119592)[4]. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 0.3 square miles (0.78 km2), all of it land.

As of the census[2] of 2000, there were 306 people, 131 households, and 89 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,099.6 people per square mile (422.0/km²). There were 173 housing units at an average density of 621.7 per square mile (238.6/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 98.69% White, 0.33% Native American, and 0.98% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.65% of the population.

There were 131 households out of which 31.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 56.5% were married couples living together, 9.9% had a female householder with no husband present, and 31.3% were non-families. 29.8% of all households were made up of individuals and 14.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.89.

In the city the population was spread out with 28.4% under the age of 18, 3.9% from 18 to 24, 24.5% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 16.7% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 39 years. For every 100 females there were 91.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $27,250, and the median income for a family was $36,250. Males had a median income of $26,944 versus $16,429 for females.
